ASHA’s philosophy remains rooted in positive evaluation and recommends the ASHA 1-10 scoring system.
Especially for the Novice and Youth divisions.
The standard 70 score system will be followed as outlined by the AQHA VRH Rules. Horses are kept as natural as possible while being trained to be correct, precise, and useful. The three (3) tiers and classes offered are designed to measure the essential qualities of a versatile stock horse. With these three (3) options, show producers can match the show format to what their area and membership will benefit from.
Competition within ASHA is intended to encourage improvement rather than eliminate participation. Riders compare scores from one event to the next, often competing against their own progress.
This structure fosters mentorship, sportsmanship, and long-term development of both horses and riders.
